Our family's business in Fiji, Ram Karan Kava Dealers, was started by my grandfather in the early 1960s with a stall at Suva market. It is now run by my uncle Sunil Karan, and in 2019 it won the Premier Medium Business Operating Internationally Award at Fiji's Prime Minister's International Business Awards, organised by Investment Fiji.
Most kava suppliers buy from a wholesaler. We are the family that grows, mills and packs it. When you order from us, there is nobody in between.

- Grade: 100% waka — lateral root only, no lewena, no stems, no leaf
- Root age: average 3.5 years
- Grind: Traditional grind

- Packed as: sealed 500g retail bags, so stock keeps and you open only what you need
What we supply
5kg and 10kg are available to order directly on the site.
Above 10kg, standing orders, regular monthly supply, or freight to a regional or remote address — email us and we will quote you properly rather than have you guess at checkout.
We are set up for regional and rural delivery, which matters if you are running a group somewhere without a Pacific grocer nearby.
Consistency
Sixty years of dealing with the same islands and the same growing families means we can tell you what you are getting and supply the same thing again next quarter. For anyone running regular sessions, that consistency is usually worth more than the price per kilo.
